Timing an audit around Japanese submission calendars

Graduate and scholarship calendars in Japan bunch hard around familiar seasons. Domestic university cycles, MEXT-related windows, and corporate 新卒 hiring each create their own rush. When every candidate books feedback in the same fortnight, turnaround stretches and second looks disappear.

We ask clients to reserve an audit slot four to six weeks before the portal close when the package is still drafty, or ten days before close when only a consistency pass remains. Materials that arrive after a portal has already opened for “final upload only” usually get a narrower review — and we say so in the engagement note so expectations stay honest.

If your school or employer uses a rolling review, treat the first realistic submission date as the deadline for audit purposes. Rolling does not mean endless; early complete files still set the tone of the pile.
